Cup flowers are beneficial to orchard bees, parasitic wasps, and green lacewings. They utilize the cup flower after it has been harvested. The cup flower is harvested in the fall and 8 inch segments are put out in the spring to various areas over the farms. These insects use it to lay eggs in. This helps spread out nesting areas which is for beneficial insects.
We will make sure the small animal coop and livestock barn are thoroughly insulated against the winters frost. Hay is another way to help in these areas. We count greatly on volunteers and welcome new volunteers. The fields will also be tilled once our cover crop buckwheat has been harvested as well. We will transplants certain crops to our green house.
