With the most recent rains, it has not allowed for us to harvest the rest of the potatoes. Based on the future weather for this time of year, the potatoes will be completed harvested soon.
Buckwheat is a cover crop. It helps to slow the erosion of the soil, improve the soils overall health or it can smoother weeds. Bees and other pollinators feed off of buckwheat as well.
Apples can be used for various types of dishes. There is often the age old apple sauce, smoothies, apple cake, apple pie, dehydrated apples and even apple butter.
Fresh produce is always best when cooking. Currently the following vegetables and fruit are ripe for the harvest: amaranth, asparagus, onions, okra, beans, peas, beets, turnips, peppers, tomatoes, squash, sweet potatoes, red raspberries, blackberries, currants, gooseberries, elderberries, strawberries, apples, apricots, pawpaw's, sweet cherries, sour cherries, plums, pears, Asian pears, Sunflower seeds.
